In their August 2004 report  “Looking Ahead to 2010: Natural Gas Markets in Transition”, the National Energy Board said it is widely accepted that a step-change in natural gas prices has occurred, which reflects the tight balance in North American natural gas supply and demand. This tight balance, combined with increased weather sensitivity of demand, will lead to volatile natural gas prices.

        Energy Market Updates - Alberta scraps natural gas rebate program

The province is ending its natural gas rebate program, Alberta Energy Minister Mel Knight announced in the legislature March 19/09. Natural gas rebates were not given in February and March due to low prices. The province could introduce another rebate program…
